- A. Gordon Anderson begins serving a series of terms as mayor that will last until 1930.
- Warren R. Pugh, barber and farmer, begins serving on the City Council. He will serve for the next 22 years, until 1940.
- Food Science & Technology department established on campus.
- Davis' First Elementary School is destroyed in fire.
- Spanish Flu hits Davis and surrounding areas. Emergency law is enacted to prohibit public gatherings.
- Steam locomotive 1233 is built. It will eventually wind up being restored by Sacramento Valley Historical Railways
