Examples of Academic Dishonesty:
- Receiving or providing unauthorized assistance on examinations.
- Using unauthorized materials during an exam.
- Taking an exam for another.
- Altering an exam and submitting it for re-grading.
- Plagiarism - using materials from sources without citations.

There were 196 plagiarism cases referred to the disciplinary office in the 2009 academic year, according to an August 1, 2010 article published in The New York Times. Donald J. Dudley, who oversees the discipline office, told the Times that many times it was students who intentionally copied — knowing it was wrong — who were “unwilling to engage the writing process.” Dudley recalled a specific incident in which the student's father admitted that he was the one responsible for the plagiarism. The wife assured Mr. Dudley that it would not happen again, according to The New York Times.
