Art Happening was an event created by art instructor Jose Arguelles in 1969. It was an on-campus art event tied into his class, somehow. A second Art Happening was planned for 1971. Following the United Nations' 1970 declaration of Earth Day, however, it was renamed to Whole Earth Festival.
