Dr. Ernest Zeringue's techniques were covered in a Los Angeles Times article, where they explain his program that offers pregnancy at the low cost of $9800 or your money back. The clinic makes several embryos at the same time, using a single egg donor and a single sperm donor, for higher efficiency. These embryos are implanted using in vitro fertilization into a set of mothers who requested similar characteristics for their children; pregnancy is said to result ~95% of the time. Since patients come from all over North America, the chance of meeting and marrying your own sibling are astronomical.

Presumably, they offer more typical fertility services as well.

Medical Professionals are limited by HIPAA as to what information they can make public about their patients, including who their patients are. As such it is very hard for Doctors, Dentists, and Psychiatrists to respond to negative comments on the wiki. Please keep this in mind while reading any comments.

2008-04-14 10:29:55   I saw Dr. Zeringue for five cycles (spread over two years) before I was finally able to get pregnant. He and his staff are genuinely warm and compassionate. They took very good care of me and made me feel safe and welcome. I've been to other fertility doctors in the area but he was the best by far. —BelindaM

2011-07-06 13:20:50   Would not recommend this place. They do a lot of advertising, but their staff's attitude is to be desired. Will not be coming back here. —KMeo

2011-08-18 11:47:32   My first experience with them was over the phone with some insurance questions. The receptionist was clearly there as a blocker for others as she would not let me speak to any of the insurance specialists that they advertise until I told her my specific questions. When I told her, she said they would not be able to help. I was clearly confused that she would say that without even allowing me to have a conversation with them. So I just said thanks and was ready to hang up. She said, "Well I can leave them a message if you'd like." At that point, I was already frustrated, so I said it wouldn't be necessary as they obviously cannot help me. Again, this is just one experience. But it's my first and it didn't feel at all warm or accommodating. In this area, warm and accommodating are quite important! —BorgilVino

2011-08-18 12:47:22   I've been visiting them recently for the purposes of sperm banking, and they have been nothing but warm, welcoming, and professional. They've kept me involved and informed throughout the process, including how it relates to me financially. —Th3DrD0nn4

2011-10-13 14:29:58   Just started visiting them this week, they have been excellent. The staff, nurses and doctors are all nice, welcoming and very informative. My insurance wasn't accepting the center as a provider, but last April they applied to be covered. I got a call one day after my consultation when they said my insurance wasn't covering but they were literally waiting any day for approval. I received a call less than 5 minutes later, they called the insurance after calling me and they were approved. I had a consultation one day, next day they called, next day they drew blood. California IVF has been nothing but WONDERFUL and HELPFUL. I would recommend the center to others looking for help with fertility concerns/issues/testing/etc. —NLC
