Claire O'Brien in 1957, Davis Enterprise
Claire O'Brien (born 25 May 1903, Sacramento, CA; died 23 Aug. 1996, Sacramento, CA) was a former teacher and vice-principal at Davis Senior High School, as well as its principal from 1950 to 1959. O'Brien received both graduate and undergraduate degrees from UC Berkeley. She became one of the first teachers at Davis High School when it opened in 1927, teaching classes in typing and shorthand. After leaving the principal's position in 1957, she became assistant chief in the Bureau of Business Education in Sacramento until she retired in 1980. She lived in the Land Park neighborhood of Sacramento.
