TheDavis Senior High School Madrigals are an audition group of 32 acapella singers performing music dating from the 15th century to the present. Formed in 1966 by Richard M. Brunelle, this highly competitive class demands the best of these young musicians' talents. During each school year, they perform in various school concerts, public events, and private parties. Dr. Karen Gardias has been the Madrigals' director and chair of the Davis High School Music Department since fall 1993, and continues to carry the choir onward and upward!

The choir is always excited to see what each new year brings as we continue to host annual events and regularly participate in various outreach projects.

The Madrigal Dinner: This holiday feast, established in 1968, is one of the Davis community's longest-running and best-loved musical traditions
Choral Workshops: Offered for all students K-6 in Yolo and Sacramento Counties
Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day: During these annual services, the Madrigals perform to honor these holidays and pay tribute to those who have served
Davis Community Meals: Every third Tuesday of the month, the choir provides our services and song in partnership with the Davis Community Meals service
Pops Concert: Annual high school performance that stars every Davis High School choir
Along with these annual events, we also perform at Shriners Hospital, UCD Cancer Center, UCD Med Center, University Retirement Home, University Covenant Gardens, Courtyard Healthcare, Sierra Healthcare and more locations in the Davis area.
