2006-03-21 18:16:33   FPI just took over Hidden Creek apts and already they're harrassing me about my 2nd car that's registered in VA. 3 tow stickers on my 2nd car in 1 week for expired tags, although we have showed proof of registration and explained to the (rude) management that we were still waiting for the new tags to come in the mail. Tried explaining to a very RUDE Manager that we've contacted VA DMV,but there's nothing I can do about the time it takes for them to mail out tags from VA. My husband & I are both in the military and deploy 3-6 mos at a time, but they have a rule that a vehicle can't be parked for more than 96 hours! So am I to come back to my car being towed everytime my family takes a 1 week vacation, or when my husband and I deploy? I'm still waiting for repairs to my garage door that was damaged from a Dec Flood, yet they have time to harass me about a dirty car. —VanessaBriggs

2006-12-02 20:17:35   My name is Steve Falconer and this is the 100% truth about FPI management ——

  • DECEMBER 1 2006 @ FPI’S Auburn California Property CURRENTLY @ THE OVERLOOK APARTMENTS in AUBURN CALIFORNIA 3 large bags of HAZARDOUS MATERIALS sit in a dumpster on the property at 385 Sacramento Street, this consists of toxic mold still growing on the sheetrock pieces, left by a hired "contractor". Waste Management was contacted to investigate, OSHA and the Auburn building inspector BRIAN JONES were both contacted FRIDAY DEC.1-06 If you think this is bad, what was left inside the ceiling must have been terrible. OSHA can get this kind of problem fixed correctly, not FPI MANAGEMENT. FAKE! —StevenFalconer
  • RE: PARK PLACE APARTMENTS managed by FPI MANAGEMENT, INC. COCKROACHES!!!! MILDEW!!!! I am a previous maintenance technician, they "padded" my time card, sent it into corporate office in Folsom and fired me, the following monday after Thanksgiving weekend. BASTARDS! I am currently squatting on one of their properties, starting a petition. FRAUD! —StevenFalconer
  • re: OVERLOOK APARTMENTS / Auburn California ~ November 27-2206 FPI MANAGEMENT fires the Maintenance Tech. CIVIL MATTER! Management locks the maintenance technician out of the maintenance room, over Thanks Giving weekend, one of our SENIOR residents calls me with a maintenance emergency, I was not able to get to work supplies, and as a result, this sweet little lady fell inside her apartment after the "emergency", suffering deep lasserations to her legs. LAW SUIT! —StevenFalconer
  • FPI MANAGEMENT, INC. under investigation on two properties......unfair housing in ROSEVILLE at PARK PLACE APARTMENTS! —StevenFalconer
  • UNFAIR EMPLOYMENT AT FPI PROPERTIES IN AUBURN CALIFORNIA AND ROSEVILLE CALIFORNIA , LABOR BOARD AND FAIR HOUSING IS REVIEWING THESE CASES, EX~EMPLOYEE HAS STARTED A PETITION FOR ALL RESIDENTS IN HARM'S WAY OF FPI'S HARSH BUDGET! OH SHIT! IT'S HITTING THE FAN ALL AT ONCE! —StevenFalconer
  • SOME OF THEIR PROPERTIES ARE PROFESSIONALLY MANAGED, BUT I FOUND SOME BLACK SHEEP! —StevenFalconer
  • I have a major beef with FPI. I have heard of security deposits not being returned at all! On the Roseville Park Place Property! Ivette Garcia (manager) or did "Misty" take the money? —StevenFalconer
  • I have never been exposed to toxic mold in the passed, but due to the fact that FPIManagement saw the mold before I did, then they aware and sent me into the apartment to paint it's interior walls, without any respirator or respiratory training....I brought this to their attention, they "PADDED" my time card on Wednesday "Thanksgiving Eve", then fired me on Monday, no answer to WHY!. THEY ABUSE
  • The PORTFOLIO MANAGER didn't sign the firing paperwork, the accountant fired me! —StevenFalconer
  • NEED LEGAL ADVICE FROM AN ATTORNEY, WORKER'S COMP. CLAIM FOR EXPOSURE TO TOXIC MOLD, I was wrongfully terminated from my job, 2 hours after contacting OSHA.....PLEASE HELP SAVE ME AND MY FAMILY FROM THE AUBURN COLD. —StevenFalconer
  • FRAUD! The two managers who fired me, went out of their way, but they never signed the paperwork to fire me. I now have more than 20 letters of reccomendations from residents I have completed work orders for.....FPI ABUSES THEIR HIRING CONTRACT....the contract states something about they can fire any employee at any time, for any reason, and this contract doesn't change through out the course of your employment, IT'S NO WONDER WHY FPI HAS SHADY MANAGERS AND EVASIVE OFFICE WORKERS, WHAT ABOUT HELPING RESIDENTS OUT! WHAT ABOUT HELPING EMPLOYEES OUT! I WILL FIND THE OWNER, AND ME AND MY FRIENDS ( THE CURRENT RESIDENTS AT PARK PLACE APARTMENTS AND OVERLOOK APARTMENTS) WILL PICKET IN FRONT OF THE OWNER'S HOME IF WE HAVE TO! FPI HAS SENT IN MORE THAN 5 MANAGERS IN THE PASSED YEAR ON THEIR AUBURN PROPERTY AND TOO MANY ON THE ROSEVILLE PROPERTY. THE MAINTENANCE CHANGES EVEN MORE FREQUENTLY, SO I'M TOLD BY RESIDENTS! —StevenFalconer
  • 2 FPI MANAGERS PADDING THEIR EMPLOYEE'S TIME CARD, BEFORE THANKS GIVING ~ ILLEGAL! FRAUD! ~ THEY DID THIS SO THEY COULD GIVE ME THE PAYCHECK EARLY AND FIRE ME, WHAT A BAD JOB THEY HAVE DONE, I WENT BY THE BOOK, AND WILL TAKE THIS EVEN FURTHER BY CONTACTING AS MANY STATE DEPARTMENTS AS I CAN. FPI MANAGERS IVETTE & LYNNEA BOTH THINK THEY ARE PERFECT, TRY WORKING FOR A FEW LIARS AND YOU WILL FEEL LIKE AN OUTCAST TOO! I AM A BORN LEADER, AND I WILL HELP THESE RESIDENTS FIND JUSTICE, MOLD!!!!!! ELECTRICAL HAZARDS!!!!!!! COCKROACHES!!!!!!!! FAKE MANAGERS, COMMITTING FRAUD!!!!!!! STATE OF CALIFORNIA PLEASE HELP US!!!!!!! I AM STEVEN FALCONER AND THIS IS 100% TRUTHFUL, CALL ME WITH YOUR LEGAL HELP, PLEASE! 916/583-2075 —StevenFalconer
  • FPI PROPERTY MANAGERS MERELY WANT THAT $150 Quarterly Bonus, and the Portfolio Manager is quite greedy, Herself! lol All they have to do to meet their Quarterly Budget is to cut back on maintenance calls/work orders, FPI neglects those with cockroaches and mold also.....REMEMBER THIS GOOD ADVICE! IF YOU HAVE COCKROACHES, IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY RENT, UNTIL THE MANAGEMENT GETS THE BUGS SPRAYED. JUST REMEMBER TO CONTACT THE LOCAL FAIR HOUSING DEPARTMENT FOR MORE ADVICE......OR GET AAA INSURANCE ON YOUR APARTMENT, THEN THE MANAGEMENT WILL BE MADE TO SPRAY SOONER, AND THEY WILL BE MADE TO DO IT RIGHT! —StevenFalconer
  • SHAME ON ONE OF CALIFORNIAS largest property management companies for USING ANOTHER MAINTENANCE MAN! MORE IMPORTANTLY FPI's BUDGETTING ON THESE PROPERTIES IS BULLSHIT! THEY SKIM OFF THE TOP! CUT CORNERS AND CHEAT PEOPLE OF THEIR MONEY, THEY EVEN LET UNHAPPY RESIDENTS/RENTERS BREAK A LEASE IF THE MOLD IS BOTHERING THEM! THAT IS SO AGAINST THE LAW —StevenFalconer

2007-07-24 08:18:03   Horrifying! I live in a property, one of three managed in Vacaville by FPI. I have a scary neighbor, and to date I have no resolution to problems with him. Why don't they do anything? Please contact me at [email protected]Lea0330

2007-09-09 01:41:31   a friend who has lived at what is now known as 'Madison Park' in alta loma for 9+ years just got his renewal notice today, notifying him of a $270/mo rent increase; his neighbors, some of whom have lived there since the place was built in the late '80s, have received notices for varying increases, all in excess of $200. there is no defensible argument to justify this; it is nothing less than robbery on behalf of greedy owners. while the owners may have made the decision, fpi management is complicit by its participation in this wholesale ripoff. one wonders how any of them sleep at night. —mka4pol

2007-10-17 11:21:47   FPI really is a terribe managment company. When the managment here, at Pinecrest, was not addressing my maintenance issues (for weeks!) I called FPI to get something done. I got an answering machine both times I called, both times I left messages (one VERY angry, and one a little more calm). Neither of my calls were returned. These people don't care about their tenants. —Chantal

2007-10-18 23:25:07   My experience with this lousy company is in the form of a vendor. They have a property in so cal called "The Mark". I realize this is a Davis site but I wanted to let all know. If you're a vendor don't do business with this company. I did a job for them back on sept 5, 2007 and as of today still have not been paid. I have been calling every day since Monday and keep getting the run around, no-one knows anything and their on site manager Taylor doesn't care at all. What really hurts is that I busted my but to fix their problem and they don't care. So in conclusion, as others have said here, DO NOT do business or rent with this poor excuse for a company, you'll lose in the end. —Housemedic

2010-06-10 17:35:55   I lived in The Courtyards in Albuquerque, NM. There was a condensation problem with the ac unit in the apartment above me which caused not only water damage but mold and mildew. I complained for months and received many various excuses but no repairs or clean up. When my lease was about to expire they told me to put in writing why I would not renew. I included copies of all New Mexico state laws they were in violation of as well as a notice of abating my last months rent. After turning in my keys they filed on me for Eviction and Restitution and totally ignored certified and faxed offer I made them 30 days before expiration of my lease. We have been in court since November 2009 as they refuse to provice information I am entitled to in order to complete my case and go to court. This is all public record. Go to www.metrocourt.state.nm.us. Go to case look-up. look for case # cv1526309 and cv1540709. —caryn

2010-07-06 15:36:14   I live in Hawaii and signed a contract for my son and his 2 friends to live at the Grove in San Jose CA managed by FPI Management Co. They gave notice to move out in May and requested a preliminary move out inspection, about 2 weeks prior to moving someone came to inspect while one of the boys was there, they did not give that boy any paperwork as to what was damaged and needed to be changed or even cleaned (nothing mailed to me either). On June 16th I get their "Request for Security Fee Refund and Forfeiture" in the mail and notice that on top of the deposit they will not refund, they are charging $802.99 more for changing carpets, floor, painting, a cleaning fee (which I hired a professional company 2 days prior to moving out and have pictures of). I keep asking for the signed preliminary report and keep getting paperwork that was attached to the forfeiture form. On top of that last year my son rented with other boys different from current ones in another apartment and the names on my forfeiture form has those boys names not the current one looks like they just pulled it out of that file made some $ adjustments and sent it to me. So far all they sent me was 3 pictures of a carpet (at this point I don't know if its from the current apartment)with smaller than a dime size of what looks like a cigarette burn. Jill at The Grove Management office keeps saying the carpet was a mess but why didn't the preliminary report say that? I feel that because they are students and we are in Hawaii, its easier to rip us off.....I need help fast and don't know where to turn...They are not accredited with the BBB and has an F rating with them. —ClaudineP

2010-09-26 22:36:24   FPI IS THE WORST MANAGEMENT COMPANY YOU WILL EVER ENCOUNTER I LIVE IN THEIR PROPERTY AT 3115 FINNIAN WAY, DUBLIN CA I am a tenant and have endured 4 years of the worst abuses. Management lies about so many things and talks down to seniors. Thank God tenants are finally speaking out against their tactics. . —mjb

I have seen several instances where comments regarding situations and comments not relating to Davis were removed. It seems pertinent that based on a history of these things being removed, that the majority of the comments on this page should be accordingly removed. Feedback would be appreciated. —GaryD

  • I agree. I was kind of shocked to see how wide and random these are. Is there a rationale for keeping them that I'm missing? -jw

    • While these are from outside of Davis, I feel it does paint a picture of FPI that Davis residents might find helpful. I, for one, have been plunged (unwillingly) into searching for a new place to live, and because of the comments from people outside of Davis, would not rent from them regardless of where I was searching (and they do manage a lot of properties in Northern California). Perhaps something in the main body that states that "FPI Management Co. not only has a bad reputation around Davis, but in other regions of the United States as well". Something to show that their reputation is not localized. -James

      • I'd agree with that. It's the same as noting corporate issues with, say, Curves or Walmart. But there's a difference between that and having complaint about the Curves in Reno, Nevada or an anecdote about a Walmart shopping trip in Huntsville, Alabama. Unless... it affects the Davis location. For instance, the Wendy's chili finger hoax likely directly affected the Davis location, as Northern California locations took a serious hit and had to lay off employees, and the Davis location refused service to people joking about the event. Same goes for the slow collapse of Borders, as we all watched to see if the Davis location got the ax with each wave of closures. -jw

The breadth and depth of the complaints is astounding. Perhaps a notice informing people not from Davis to share their stories anyways? ~SD
