Gentleman Surfer - Davis

Gentleman Surfer is the avant garde solo music project of Jon Bafus. Started in 2007, the Bafus act has since performed widely in the Davis region and the Pacific Northwest. Venues played include the KDVS Is My Life House in Davis; Bows & Arrows, Luigi's Fungarden, Shine, The Witch Room, and The Press Club in Sacramento; and Hemlock Tavern in San Francisco. The act has performed at music festivals such as O.R.M.F. Bafus holds a SAMMIES award in the category of "Outstanding Experimental." GS is associated with other Davis acts such as Appetite, in which Bafus plays, and Pregnant, another avant garde outfit. He has played the on the same bill as other local acts like Poppet and Art Lessing & The Flower Vato. The video for his song "Sweep Tactics" was filmed in Sacramento, directed by Gonzalo Eyzaguirre, and features Davisites/ex-Davisites like Seann Johansson.
