Jennie Drummond Read was born 25 Oct 1860, to Lewis Craig Drummond and Eliza Anne Reid. A prominent figure in Davisville, she appeared frequently in the local news including the Woodland Daily Democrat throughout the late 1800s and early 1900s. In 1881 she married Henry R. Lillard, who died 8 December 1885. With him, she had a son Lewis Craig Lillard who married Katherine Irene Hunt. After his death, she married Walter Grinnell Read and after Walter's death she ran his business. She died in Sacramento 18 June 1935 after suffering a stroke and is buried in Tremont Cemetery.
