Jumoke Maraiyesa was an ASUCD Senator from 2018-2019. She ran on the BASED slate, campaigning on a platform addressing food insecurity, hate crimes/sexual harassment/discrimination on campus, and support for the mental health initiative. Ms. Maraiyesa is a sociology major.
Ms. Maraiyesa was mentioned in a February 15, 2019 California Aggie article in which it was reported that she had refused to sign a statement honoring a murdered police officer, though a supermajority of her colleagues on the student senate elected to do so. Ms. Maraiyesa also voted against a Senate resolution intended to honor the murdered officer.
