Univision |
One of the area television stations, licensed to Modesto, California. KUVS is the highest-rated Spanish language television station in the Sacramento region, and is owned and operated by the Univision network. As such, KUVS viewers will see exactly what Univision wants them to see. Additionally, the station is co-owned with Telefutura 64, and the two stations operate from the same building.
Univision network programming makes up most of the station's broadcast day. KUVS produces a local newscast, but it airs only at 6:00 PM and 11:00 PM. Among Univision network programs are "Despierta América", a morning news program; "Sábado Gigante", an old-school variety show, and excellent coverage of the FIFA World Cup soccer tournament. (Let's face it—the Spanish-speaking announcers are way more entertaining than their English-speaking counterparts.)
