2006-03-23 13:44:21 I think the food was the most disappointing aspect of my experience. The atmosphere was really cute and kitchy. I'm amused that it attempts a British feel when it was started, owned and still operated by Asians. The people really are very nice and I originally thought it was a little over-priced until I got my fish. Damn that's a lot of food! The "skin" on the deep fried fish I ordered came off a little too easily. I felt a little sick after eating here, but when I want fish and chips again, I'll definitely be back because I love tiny hole-in-the-wall places like this; especially when the people are extra nice! —SS
2006-03-23 14:23:46 Went here last night, and was not dissapointed. The food wasn't awe-inspiring, but it was good and there were good sized portions for the price. I liked the newspaper "tablecloths". We sat at the Financial table, but was tempted to switch to the Comic page table. :) —AllisonEriksen
2006-04-21 14:27:03 I didn't get an extra piece of fish like many people have. :( Maybe it's because I took mine to go. The staff were very nice and the fish and chips were yummy, but pricier than I would've liked. (I come from the South where fish is cheaper.) —JennaChan
2006-05-11 02:04:17 I went there tonight after finding all the info about it here on DavisWiki. I would definitely recommend the fish and chips. I thought the fish was tasty and the fries tasty like real potatoes. I got the combo of fish and calamari and the calamari was just okay. I didn't think it was anything too great. But it's a better deal than the fish and crispy chicken. My gf got the fish and crispy chicken and it only came with 2 pieces. Granted they were okay sized, I got about 8 calamari rings. It comes with tartar sauce, ketchup and hot sauce. Also a plus was the malt vinegar on the table. The portions are enormous. None of us (3 of us) finished our meal. For 6.99 for fish, calamari, and fries...it's pretty good. In addition, they don't give plates besides the ones they put your food on which is a basket. So i had to use napkins to my ketchup on and also use napkins to cut off the fish etc. I would go back there just to try the deep fried snickers but I was so freakin full that we couldn't. —ChrisLee
2006-06-01 22:20:23 Awful. Two orders were wrapped in one, making it very awkward as to who ordered what, WARM BEER to which owner/server said there was "nothing that could be done", (i.e. nothing cool to drink). Very dissapointed to the lack of interest after sale to customer concern. NOT WHAT IT USED TO BE AT ALL. Surely under new ownership, save your money and go somewhere where you will be cared for better. —AlexCrocker
- 2006-06-12 00:48:49 I have been away for the last few weeks and am disappointed to see the last entry and find out the service has not been up to par. There is nothing worse than not being able to have a cold beer when you want one. I apologize for the inconvenience but our refrigerator is on the fritz. I am looking to have it fixed as soon as possible. As for the orders being put together, we will definitely be more careful. 2006-09-14 23:56:50 I ate here for the first time on Tuesday with my significant other, and our order was taken and food served by two incredibly friendly women. I had the very tasty fried zuccini that I was unable to stop eating. (I wanted to, I really did, but I just couldn't! It was so yummy!) He had the fish and calarmari, and was unable to finish. (Not usually a problem for him.) In summary: A ton of good food, friendly service, and low prices. —AnnaJones

2006-12-13 21:25:14 I figured the portions would be like at other restaurants with dinky fish and tons of fries to make up for it. Rather, I got huge portions of fish and plenty of fries. The first time I went I got three piece, but now I know that two pieces is plenty of fish. —JohnHumperdinkle
