MK Modern began when a group of students, who were involved in Mga Kapatid's Annual Pilipino Culture Night, decided to pursue their passion for modern dance and take it to the next level. Since its humble beginnings, this family that is united through the art of movement has evolved into a prominent dance group at UC Davis that continually offers dancers a place to do what they love.
Modern's members come from multi-cultural backgrounds and from many parts of the world, such as Japan, Korea, the Mid-Western United States, Northern California and Southern California. The diversity of its members consistently contributes to their performances and is a true testament to the fluidity of the greater dance community. MK Modern prides itself in orchestrating sets that entertain and electrify the crowds as they continue to give Davis a taste of what's fresh in the international dance community.

How to Join:
If you'd like to join MK Modern, they typically have two auditions every year in the beginning of fall quarter and winter quarter. Details are released during the summer around August/September so stay tuned! More information can be found at the facebook link or on our instagram!
