Robert B. Armstrong (80 years, 1 month, 19 days old — August 26th1914) was a native of Ireland who came to New York at 3 and then around the horn in 1854. Teamed over the mountains to the mines for several years finally settling in 1967 on what is known as Glide Gun Club grounds. His first wife died there. In 1979 he went to Iowa and married Lydia Codd and brought her back to a farm a mile west of Davis. He grew his holdings until he owned over a thousand acres and became one of the wealthier men in either Solano or Yolo counties.
