2005-03-25 21:07:17 went there Tues, March 22. The menu was typical upmarket California cuisine, and although quite tasty, the price wasn't quite justified. I ordered a cheese flatbread (essentially a thin crust pizza without sauce, not what I expected. Decent.) and for the main course a mixed seafood bouillabase(ish) dish served with a portion of a crusty bagette. Very tasty, but certainly not even in the ballpark of orgasmically good, which is something I always hope for in a dish. My 'rents ordered a steak and a lamb "taco" and they seem to enjoy their meals. The service was indeed excellent and a fine perk of Seasons is that they allow you to bring your own wine for a 10 per bottle "corking fee". So in the long run, if you're into wine you can save money doing that unless you want to select a bottle from Season's extensive collection and pay up the wazoo. Overall, it was quite a treat, but certainly won't be a place I'll visit often. Special occasions only. —MarcRehfuss

2005-02-24 09:36:56 I'd previously stayed away from this place because I'd heard it was overpriced for the quality of food. However, I finally checked it out last night w/ friends, and have to say that the service, presentation, and food quality were excellent! Prices were definitely high, but I think they were pretty well in line with the caliber of the dining experience. Starters/salads ran about $10 for "nouvelle size" portions, but the flavors/presentation/textures were so intense and well-crafted that you spent a good couple minutes savoring each bite. Entrees were in the $20 range, and the flavors were beautifully blended. I would have liked to see a couple lighter dessert options because I'd overeaten, but the desserts we ordered were all quite good. Big splurge, but well worth it! —AlphaDog
2005-02-27 13:37:41 this is the best upscale restaurant i have tried in Davis. the entrees, salads, flatbreads, and deserts are all wonderful here. it is a little pricy, but the food, atmosphere, presentation and service all made well worth it. —MattHh

2005-08-10 19:21:49 Been there twice. Maybe it was just what I ordered (don't remember what it was), but the food was downright bad. Not just bad for the price, but just plain bad. Practically anywhere else in Davis offers better food at a better price (the only thing upscale about Seasons IS the price). —DurinLinderholm
2005-09-29 22:47:32 Went there for my birthday dinner. The service was good, but the food was not. I've had much better cioppino at String's. Also, this restaurant is pretty expensive. I'd say the experience was not worth the price. —MindyYang
2005-11-21 23:43:55 I came here on someone else's bag of dimes. The dinner entree was pretty good, but I'm glad I wasn't paying. The Sharffen-Berger brownie for dessert, on the other hand... My mouth still waters at the thought, several months later. Yum. —GrahamFreeman
