StUCC (abbreviation of Stand-Up Comedy Club) is a student-run club at UC Davis, and is UC Davis' premier stand-up comedy troupe. Visit their Facebook page or Instagram page for the most up to date information on the group and their events.
Shows: StUCC produces several free showcases of various student stand-up comedians every fall, winter, and spring quarters inside lecture halls at UC Davis. Showcases typically feature around a dozen student comics, and last between 60 and 90 minutes. Entry is free, although donations are collected to fund new equipment and guest comics. Recordings of individual performances are archived on the StUCC Youtube channel.
Membership: StUCC has no barrier to entry, and even allows non-UC Davis students to join and perform in showcases. Club meetings are held twice a week on campus, and at these meetings comedians workshop jokes to prepare for the showcases. Currently, StUCC has over 30 members, who have at various points performed on stage in showcases.
Booking: Outside of their own shows, StUCC is often featured other clubs’ benefit shows and events, and have performed for a multitude of other Davis groups and organizations.
