West Coast Swing Club (WCSC) is a social dance club at UC Davis that primarily focuses on West Coast Swing - the official California State Dance. Officially recognized in the California Senate under Senate Bill 2460 in 1988, West Coast Swing is a partner dance with roots in Lindy Hop - but with distinct differences - including the choice of music and the style of dance. We aim to provide students the opportunity to participate in social West Coast Swing dancing and receive professional instructions to compete in West Coast Swing competitions throughout the world.

Q: Where?:
A: Hoagland 168, UC Davis campus
Q: When?
A: Every Monday. 8-9pm lesson, 9-11pm social dancing
Q: What type of the dance?
A: Spring quarter it is Blues Fusion.
Q: Who is teaching?
A: We have different instructors every time.
Q: Do I need a partner?
A: No.
Q: Do I need to have dance experience?
A: No.
Q: How do I find a partner to dance during social dancing?
A: If you want to dance with someone, just ask him/her.
Q: What if I someone asks me to dance and I do not want to dance with him/her?
A: Just say:"No thank you". This person will not get offended. If he/she will - it is his/her mental issues, you should not worry about it.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Something comfortable, short skirt does not work that well. Shoes: High heels and flip flops will not work that well, although you may try.
Q: What if someone creeps me out?
A: Tell this to one of the officers, we will fix this issue.
