The Wherehouse was a record store, located in University Mall, in the corner that now has a Trader Joe's building. No idea what the relevant dates of opening and closing are, but it must (?) have been gone in the mid-1980s.
I used to work there for a while. It had a cool tape making vending machine you could choose what songs you wanted to record and then it spit it out! Too Short and Digital Underground had there music on it!
