These are reviews of Woodstock's Pizza from 2005. For more current reviews, visit the entry.

One time, I walked into Woodstock's around closing time — which is incidentally bar closing time — and ordered a pizza. I left with it and before I could cross the street a brigade of 3 huge, drunk men were pushing me and trying to steal my pizza. I handed the pizza to my female friend and she ran off with it as I distracted them. - PhilipNeustrom

2005-03-05 09:48:45   I've seen Woodstock's drivers come into Kemper Hall numerous times so I'm not sure if they really won't go into buildings. —AndrewChen

2005-03-21 00:44:52   From what I have heard/read, there are Woodstock's on the east coast as well. There's a split between the coasts, with the original owner dying as the west coast ones were being started and the local backers taking over. Anybody know the details? —JabberWokky

2005-06-06 12:27:35   My husband and I own Woodstock's, so I'll give you the lowdown. BTW, thanks for the great comments about Woodstock's. And yes, we do deliver to the residence halls and any other campus buildings, and our drivers are supposed to call when they get there so no one has to wait outside. We'd like to be on the East Coast some day, but right now we're only in California. However, the original Woodstock's is in Corvallis, OR and owned by Carol Lee Woodstock. If you go to our website you can get the scoop "About Us" that explains how we came to own the business. But yes, JabberWokky, Chuck Woodstock died in a private plane crash in 1985, just before Davis opened. Jeff Ambrose (who was GM in the San Diego Woodstock's at the time) eventually became President, and then bought out the other family members to become owner in 2001.

Can you tell me how we can give you some better photos of Woodstock's??? I can't say I'm happy with that pepperoni pic. One of our Woodstock's mantras is that our pepperonis should be kissing, not..., but some of these babies aren't close enough to kiss. And our crust is supposed to be 1" around the edges. I can see it's time to review our quality standards in Davis! Oh, and I forgot to mention in my other comment that we have five locations in California college towns — SD, IV, SLO, Chico, and of course, Davis. —LauraAmbrose

2005-06-06 17:43:00   Laura, thanks for contributing to the Wiki community! I'm very glad to hear that you're going to look into the crust width issue. For a periodic and independent assessment of the crust size at Woodstock's, please refer to the FSI calculations on the Pizza page. I put the measurements from the pepperoni pizza above, and hopefully people will periodically update their measurements as well. —CraigBrozinsky

2005-06-06 19:29:52   Woodstocks, while a fine place to purchase a liter of quality beer, makes good though expensive pizza. Woodstock's has never seemed to me as inexpensive pizza. This may just be price for quality, but there's much cheaper pizza out there. Beer's awesome though. Sampling before you buy is a great idea. —DanielMedinaCleghorn

2005-06-26 09:54:13   Woodstock's in Chico now? I know Woodstock's has been around in Chico since at least 1992. My brother used to take me there after getting a haircut when I was 6 or 7. —LuisdelaTorre

2005-09-11 17:54:30   I thought the name of the place was merely a coincidence. I'm tickled that the Woodstock's here is actually a chain that started in Corvallis, where I got my undergraduate. They had the second best pizza in Corvallis, right after American Dream Pizza. —AaronCooke

2005-09-11 22:24:17   Woodstock's is my favorite pizza in Davis. I love the sauce and how it tucks up under the outer crust. MMMM. —JanelleAlvstadMattson

2005-09-15 14:21:28   What's the deal with the bible verses being printed on the box? Woodstock's sounds like it has great pizza, but I'm leery of being proselytized at while I'm having my lunch, even passively. —NancyWallace

2005-09-15 14:36:49   Really? I've never noticed that. Can you post a photo? I know In-n-out does that... —ArlenAbraham

2005-09-15 15:01:41   In the beginning God created the dough.

And the dough was without toppings, and void; and nothingness was upon the face of the dough. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the pizza. And God said, Let there be toppings and there was toppings. And God saw the toppings, that they were good: and God divided the sauce from the cheese. And God called the sauce Marinara, and the cheese he called Mozzarella. And the cheese and the sauce were the first pizza. —ArlenAbraham

2005-10-03 12:59:52   I'm disappointed in the change in Woodstock's delivery times since this was the standard food option between 12-2 AM. The Garlic Bird is my personal favorite but it's always interesting to call in for an order. The price is almost always different so we always have one person order the food so he knows what to say to get the price as consistent as possible. Really odd. —LiRic

2005-10-03 13:27:16   Pizza was pretty good. I had a bad experience though. Through a delivery... They over charged 4 dollars per pizza with a delivery charge... Now with two pizzas that comes out to be +9 dollars! They compensated with a X-large combo, but I still wanted my money back. They said "they couldn't refund cash" -_- that delivery boy NEEDS TO READ SIGNS. but either way, good pizza, they recompensated me and my suite mates. The crust is excellent, best crust I've ever had. —AlexKang

2005-10-04 14:33:01   Their Hawaiian pizza is the best Hawaiian pizza I've ever had. Very tasty. —AlexPomeranz

2005-10-11 03:24:36   Great pizza, I used to get a free slice every now and then when I was delivering their newspaper for the enterprise. —IanKoller

2005-10-24 01:41:07   I've had pizza there a couple of times and it was very poor quality the toppings kept separating from the crust and forming a horrible pile of goo on the plate before I could even get it to my mouth it sucked. —AnonEmuss

2005-10-25 21:52:48   I love Woodstock's, but at around $2.90 a slice these days, I'm honestly just not sure how often I'll be back..... —TerraSmithers

2005-11-09 21:01:12   Don't try to have a potluck here. Even if you are a paying customer, they crack down on most of your stuff. Especially outside sodas. —GabeKoulikov

2005-11-13 15:47:10   GabeKoulikov, maybe you shouldn't try to have a potluck at any restaurant, ya knucklehead. Their private space exists to serve food they sell you, not so you can hang out with your friends, make a mess and leave. If you want to have a potluck, try your house or a public park. —JeffSpeckles

2005-11-13 15:42:43   Great food, great atmosphere, great employees. But their employees really suck at sloshball. I mean, 20 runs down in the 6th inning? Pathetic. :P :P :P —JeffSpeckles
