History

One of the original HellaCappella ads from the '05/'06 eraThe Spokes are the only all-female group at UC Davis. Founded in 2004, the group currently consists of 16 talented and dedicated girls whose shared passion for music and performing shines when they take the stage. Their repertoire includes a wide range of music genres, from Top 40 ("Never Ever Getting Back Together" by Taylor Swift) to alternative ("Seven Nation Army" by The White Stripes) to R&B ("I’ll Be Waiting" by Adele) to classics ("Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond). The Spokes’ love for singing can be heard in their latest album, Shades of Pink: Volume 1, which is available on iTunes, Spotify, Pandora, and Loudr. Here is a video of The Spokes singing their rendition of "Us Against the World" by Play at HellaCappella 2013!

In a continuous effort to give back to the community, The Spokes are committed to raising funds for Teach For America, the leading national teaching corps dedicated to working at every level of education, policy and other professions, to ensure that all children can receive an excellent education. HellaCappella 2012 raised over $3000 for The American Cancer Society, and HellaCappella 2013 raised $2,000 to support TFA’s educational efforts!
