Purple Tree Café is a non-profit organization that creates community-based employment for people with disabilities and brings people with and without disabilities together through food, art, and music. We offer our organic coffee and handcrafted vegan and wheat-free baked goods at the Davis farmers market and other public and private events; we also sponsor music events and provide catering services. Our signature bicycle-driven coffee cart was the first step toward our city-wide program, and it reflects the city’s reputation as one of the most bicycle-friendly cities in the country. We plan to open a brick-and-mortar café in Davis some time in the future. As the center of our program it will employ people with and without disabilities and provide a fun and welcoming space for all — a place where “community” truly means everyone.
