DC food systems Impact Hub group including Tom McDougall of 4PFoods, and Kevin Jones is looking at food systems in the DC area, trying to see if a regional food port is feasible, providing both farm to table food and access for all, working on food deserts and justice. That is a principal question of what will be the food systems with access theme at next year's Neighborhood Economics in DC; a national scale local economy event.  Among the people we have talked are Ronnie Webb of  Green Scheme. Lindsay Smith at the council of governments is essential connector who knows the players and their strengths. She thinks the time is right for phase shift into a more coordinated system in the DC region. Lindsay Smith, of COG is key to this Food Systems Value Chain Coordination effort coalescing. Smith leads this project, has a total overlap with Neighborhood Economics focus on food systems.Wendy Stuart of Food Works Group is an advisor and part of the brain trust. Chris Bradshaw of Dreaming Out Loud, building a sustainable inclusive food system in the region is another key partner.
