Halloween Matsuri
Mu Epsilon Kappa hosts a Japanese Festival with a Halloween twist. Fun for all ages and public welcome. Activities have included traditional Japanese festival booths, console gaming, karaoke, Pachinko machines, and dance music.
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Every October, usually close to Halloween, certain UNT organizations, including UPC, FMLA, and Glad, host a showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It is a charity event, the proceeds of which go to Health Services of North Texas.
Vagina Monologues
Every year, UNT's FMLA hosts a production of The Vagina Monologues. They've done so for (I think) over a decade now. It's hosted in February around Valentine's day.

Great American Cleanup
Each year, Denton community members join Keep Denton Beautiful in a nationwide effort with Keep America Beautiful and Keep Texas Beautiful by volunteering in the Great American Cleanup (GAC). Denton's event includes a citywide cleanup effort, followed by a Volunteer Party with children's activities, environmental education booths, and a free lunch for volunteers. Also in conjunction with this event, the City of Denton Landfill holds an annual free landfill day for city of Denton residents.
Over the years, over a million volunteers have collected many thousands of pounds of trash from the streets, waterways, and neighborhoods of Denton. This is the largest volunteer event hosted by Keep Denton Beautiful and volunteer groups of all ages participate, including Boy & Girl Scouts troops, college fraternities and sororities, civic groups, and representatives from City Council.

Redbud Festival
The Denton Redbud Festival, hosted by Keep Denton Beautiful, is the official Arbor Day event for the City of Denton, Texas. The Redbud Festival , in addition to being an Arbor Day celebration event, also includes a Home and Garden Show with more than 60 booths showcasing a wide variety of gardening, landscaping, and home improvement products.
This event is free to attend. Redbud trees are available for sale at the festival.
Tejas Storytelling Festival
Thin Line Film Fest
Thin Line Film Fest is the only documentary film festival in Texas, screening more documentaries than any other festival in the state (including SXSW and DIFF). The 6th annual fest is held February 8-18, 2013 in downtown Denton.
