Sleep Whale (formerly known as MOM) is a band from Denton. They're not officially together anymore, though they have played the occassional one off show. Joel North now works on a solo project, Northern. Bruce Blay now writes and plays as Melting Season. His latest solo record, entitled Harmoni-Pet Deluxe, was released on Mush Records in 2011.

The band changed their name due to confusion during tours, fans mixing them up with the band "MUM".
