What do you know about B. Siegel house?
In the Boston-Edison Historic District, the mansion at 150 West Boston Boulevard is the former home of Benjamin Siegel (1860-1936), who bought the women's wear store where he worked and changed the name to B. Siegel Company, which became the largest such store in the Midwest. Unfortunately, a Wikipedia search for Benjamin Siegel redirects to Bugsy Siegel, a prohibition-era criminal. However, see the article "Benjamin Siegel Home" at detroit1701.org, which includes biographical information, as well as a picture of the house. The all-limestone villa was designed by Albert Kahn as Italian Renaissance Revival and built in 1915. Part of the Historic Boston-Edison Association's driving/walking tour. Please do not disturb current resident(s). The Siegel mausoleum is in Woodmere Cemetery.
