Five acres of animal habitat, bee exhibition, birds, turtles, gardens, and more. The Nature Zoo opened in 2005. In a previous incarnation, it was the Nature Center, built in 1977.
In 2013, the Zoo got a $1,000,000 renovation, which was managed by the Detroit Building Authority.
The zoo is managed by the Detroit Zoological Society.
