Buildings of Detroit is a popular academic architectural history website run by Sean Doerr. The site is named after the book by the same title, and features profiles of architects, structures, and styles, as well as renderings, postcards, video, and historical and contemporary photographs.
In 2011, Dan Austin split his contributions, including building histories, photo galleries, and postcard scans off into the independent Historic Detroit site. As of late 2011, Buildings of Detroit was offline awaiting a relaunch.
