David "Dave" Bing (born November 24, 1943, in Washington, D.C.) is a former mayor of Detroit, Michigan, a businessman, and a retired American professional basketball player in the NBA, primarily for the Detroit Pistons from 1966 to 1975. He was a seven-time All-Star.

He donated the first to years of his salary to the Detroit Police Department, but started drawing a salary on July 1, 2011. His salary, $176,176, is set by the Elected Officials Compensation Commission. Because of ordered furlough days, his actual salary is $158,558.
