Announced by Mayor Dave Bing in August 2012. The Trust aims to raise $24M to offset the $20M yearly cost of running the City's 17 rec centers . The Trust had raised $15M in donations as of August 2012.  

Listed donations:

  • Lear has pledged $5 million over 10-year period
  • General Motors has donated $2 million and
  • $3 million in Community Development Block Grants
