Roach is the communications director for the Duggan administration's transition team. He also ran communications for the 2013 campaign. 

He has held positions in the Office of the Wayne County Executive, the Department of Public Services, and the Sheriff’s Office. At the city, he was 2nd Deputy Chief for Public Information and Community Relations at the Detroit Police Department. He has a bachelor's in print journalism from Wayne State University.
