HMS Vanguard accidentally struck and sunk by HMS Iron Duke at Bray Head after leaving Kingstown

HMS Iron Duke takes position as Guardship in the harbour

Edward McCabe, PP Kingstown becomes Archbishop of Dublin

Birth of Patrick Joseph Boylan in Burrowhouse, Athy - later he became Monsignor Boylan after whom the Boylan Centre was named.  Was parish priest when St Michaels was burned in 1965, and was responsible for the rebuilt church which opened 1973.
