Richmond Hill was originally a Victorian residential cul-de-sac running westward off Carrickbrennan Road.  Nowadays, it is a through road to a number of housing estates.

The south side of Richmond Hill was originally the boundary wall of a large house called Yapton.  Yapton became part of the Sacred Heart convent and school which operated until about 1975. Nowadays, the convent and school site has been built over as Carrickbrennan Lawn, but there is no entrance to it from Richmond Hill.
