Hairizon Beauty is a beauty supply shop that offers all-natural, chemical-free skin and hair products. It is under a consignment model and houses 26 different minority-owned vendors that sell products including clothing, artwork, jewelry and candles. Some name brands include Coco Curls LLC, Janelle Beauty and POZZibilitiez. Their hair products can be applied to all types of hair, whether natural or chemically-treated. The store serves all ethnicities and hair textures.

History

Valerie Jackson and her daughter Joi Stepney co-own the store. It was established in 2011 and was remodeled after a drunken driver crashed through the front window in 2013.

Beauty Bar

The Hairizon Beauty Bar is a feature of the shop where customers can order shea butters, shampoos and conditioners, body scrubs and oils. The owners of the store developed the concept of whipping the free-trade, African shea butter in a Cuisinart, and then adding extra virgin coconut oil and vitamin E.  Customers can also customize their products. For example, if a customer has a dry scalp or wants something for hair growth, the employee can add various oils or vitamins to the shea butter to create a unique product.

Whipped shea butter is prepared daily in the store and is customized for every individual.

Hair Consultations

The shop's specialists offer free hair consultations. Natural hair is tested to determine which products will work best, and specialists also show clients how to care for their hair, step by step.
