History

Yoni and Vanessa Mazuz, co-owners of The Parlour, began selling handmade ice cream from a converted school bus in 2011.  After two successful years as an ice cream truck and a successful Kickstarter campaign, they opened The Parlour in 2013 as a permanent storefront at 117 Market St. in downtown Durham.

In 2015, The Parlour expanded into the neighboring storefront, the former Playworks space in the 117 Market Street building. The expansion doubled the seating area of the original store, added more production space and added a bookable private party room.

The Parlour's owners haven't forgotten their wheeled beginnings. They still operate the original ice cream bus as a part of the business, taking the bus to public events and accepting catering jobs for private gatherings.
