Willamette Hall houses the Physics Department, the General Science Program, Material Science Institute, and the Institute for Theoretical Science. Opened in 1989, Willamette Hall is one of the buildings built in the $45.6 million construction project that also included Deschutes, Streisinger, and Cascade.

Art and Design

As a part of the 1% for Public Art Initiative, Willamette Atrium is designed to represent some of the major science departments. The floor pattern depicts a quark and anti-quark interaction (Physics), molecules are seen on the second-floor railing (Chemistry), DNA is illustrated up the staircase (Biology), and metal stars decorate the ceiling (Astronomy).

The atrium of Willamette Hall is one of the most impressive interiors on campus.
