El Mezcal is a Mexican restaurant located in the Ohlone Village shopping center on Washington Avenue.  It is part of the Taqueria El Mezcal Bay Area chain which has two locations in San Lorenzo, and one in Hayward.

Its doors open as of October 26, 2012, El Mezcal took over the space that was once occupied by Mission Jarrito, a popular, locally-owned restaurant that started in Union City in the 1980's, but moved to Fremont in 1990 (Tri-City Voice).

El Mezcal offers a wide array of Mexican dishes-burritos, tamales, fajitas, etc.-as well as a full bar.  On Tuesdays, which are known as Taco Tuesday, Cantina style taco's are offered for a dollar.  Tuesdays also feature a special price on margaritas-two for $5.99.  Lunch is served 11-3.  Happy hours is Monday-Friday from 2-6:30p.m.

A kids menu is available for children.  And the menu features some vegetarian friendly fare.  Take-out is available.

Seating capacity is listed at 100 patrons.
