What do you know about Casa Alhambra?

3026 ALHAMBRA ST, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304

On May 16 [2015], crews knocked down Casa Alhambra, a 1936 home on Alhambra Street next door to the Casablanca Cafe where developers propose building a Marriott hotel.
...
Enrique Colmenares, owner of the Casa Alhambra property, applied for the demolition permit more than a year ago and said he wasn't even aware of the upcoming preservation board discussion. He said beach residents were using the age of the building as a pretext to stop development.
"This is just a tactic," Colmenares said.[2]
