Comments

Abram Pike held a varied career from an Indian trader to a store clerk. A short-lived apprenticeship in a Port Sheldon store led to the construction of his Grand Rapids home. The business went under and Pike took the building apart, piece by piece and transported it to Grand Rapids. His lovely home has been preserved since 1924 as the Grand Rapids Art Museum. (Became art museum; parts moved from Port Sheldon)
