323 Paris Avenue SE is located in Heritage Hill. It was built in 1908. Past owners include George T. Appleyard, Tunis Johnson, Detroit Chabad Lubavitch, Lawrence and Nancy Beckwith (1976), James R. and Patricia A. Talen (1976-2013). Tunis Johnson was an owner of the Tunis Johnson Cigar Company and a Mayor of Grand Rapids (1936-1938). James Talen served as a Kent County Commissioner (1993-2000, 2009-2014). The house was almost completely rebuilt in 1926, according to a story and photos in the April 18, 1926 Grand Rapids Herald. "To all intents and purposes it is a new residence."
