Belknap Hill is a 160 foot bluff overlooking Grand Rapids. It is a prominent feature of the Belknap Lookout neighborhood and was named after Charles E. Belknap. Much of the hill is retained by a wall overlooking I-196; the wall is painted with a mural of Grand Rapids history, including the likenesses of Belknap and Louis Campau. Because of its height relative to much of downtown Grand Rapids, Belknap Hill has some of the best views in the city and is a favorite of fireworks watchers.
