Brainiac was a band that formed in Dayton, Ohio in January of 1992 with vocalist, guitarist and keyboard (particularly Moog synthesizers) player Tim Taylor, bassist Monostereo (Juan Monasterio), guitarist Michelle Bodine and drummer Tyler Trent. On March 12th, the band played its first show at Wright State University's Cafeteria, under the name We'll Eat Anything.

Brainiac played some very influential shows in Grand Rapids. Shortly before the death of front man Tim Taylor in the spring of 1997, Brainiac played on the West Side at The Lexicon Club with fellow Touch and Go labelmates The Delta 72.
