
The Grand Rapids Owls are a defunct International Hockey League (IHL) team. They were members of the IHL from the 1977-1978 season to 1979-1980 season. They were based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The team started the 1977-1978 season as the Dayton Owls, but on December 17, 1977 they relocated to Grand Rapids and played their home games in Stadium Arena ( located near Comstock Park). Their team colors were red, white, and black.

In the 1978-79 season the Owls set a still-standing IHL record: 27 games without losing on home ice.
Today
Since 1998, the Owls name and logo has been used for a Junior B league team in the Central States Hockey League (CSHL). Most of the players from the team come from the West Michigan area and are between 15 and 20 years old.
