Ivan released an EP in 2007 on Friction Records.

What seemed to have become a redundant metal scene had a new savior, IVAN. This Grand Rapids Michigan export wasn't your typical run-of-the-mill metal act by any means and thank god for that.

Blending an incredible concoction of styles like a musical processor, IVAN was dead set on making a difference in our over-saturated metal scene by simply having no pre-set boundaries. Easier said then done, but somehow this group of newbies had accomplished just that; making something new and fresh is an understatement. Audiences were witness to a group of talented musicians that has no concerns about following trends set by the newest upsurges of youth angst. Mixing such eclectic influences as Latin guitar progressions with other such diverse ingredients as Jazz and Metal as their obvious back bone IVAN were such a fresh sound that may have been a hard swallow at first.

At the beginning of the Summer of 2008, IVAN decided to call it quits. Their "death," and final show in Grand Rapids, at the famous Skelletones, with long-time friends La Dispute, being on July 25, 2008, with their funeral following on July 26th, and final show in Grand Haven, with La Dispute & Victor! Fix the Sun.
