Local First is a BALLE affiliate and networking system for locally owned businesses in Grand Rapids established in 2004.
From the website its mission statement reads: "We encourage the development of a vibrant, sustainable West Michigan economy by promoting local business ownership, social equity, and environmental kinship through education, support and collaboration."
It holds an annual Local First Street Party benefit each summer in downtown GR.
The Local First Member Directory is a resource and catalyst for sustainable growth. Local First seeks to employ a "Triple Bottom Line" approach to the buying/business practices of West Michigan residents.
