The South Gate Community Garden was first prepared in 2003, and it was first planted in 2004. The land is owned by Larry Kleiman of Kleiman's Men's Store whose Store fronts Division Ave. and is contiguous with the garden land. The garden was made possible through Mr. Kleiman's generosity. Water has been accessible from Kleiman's and other neighbors. There was no charge to use the garden. It was designed to serve the immediate neighborhood, but it is open to anyone.
Currently is looks like the garden has been abandoned.
