Ultra Media: Theory and Practice was an exhibition presented at the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts at the UICA building on Race Street. The exhibition was curated by Robert Crise of Hamtramck and produced by the UICA Visual Arts Committee. The exhibit opened on Nov. 18, 1988 and ran concurrently with the Hieroglyphics exhibition. The exhibit included works by Robert Crise (Hamtramck, MI), Mason Buyers (Washington, D.C.), Richard Dennis( PA), Jim Pallas (Detroit), and Gary Zych (Detroit). It was supported in part with funds from the National Endowment for the Arts.
