The Independence Farmers Market represents 51 entrepreneurs and provides educational workshops and year-round marketing opportunities through our Market from May-October and the on-line market November-April. We also work with Rooted in Appalachia and New River Growers to provide wholesale markets for our vendors and other producers. Weekly kids activities and special events and a monthly cooking demonstration are highlights of the Market. Fridays 9am to 1pm May-October in Downtown Independence in the Town Park across from the Historic 1908 Courthouse. The Wendsday evening Market begins the middle of June from 4-7pm. The Market is proud to be a member of the Wholesome Wave Food Nutrition Network and offers a $25 match for SNAP purchases for fresh fruits and vegetables. Use your SNAP dollars for any eligible purchase and receive and equal amount to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables.
