Background

Bob’s Closet is a nonprofit organization started by Bob Page, head of Replacements, LTD., a sustainable long-standing dinnerware company with innovative work practices located just east of Greensboro, NC.

Page had exemplary parents who showed him the effects of fairness, honesty and respect.  Through Bob’s Closet, Page was able to turn his kind demeanor, as well as his thrifting hobby, into a way of giving back to the local community.

Community Engagement

Since its inception in 2016, Bob’s Closet now collaborates with 30 nonprofits in Guilford, Forsyth, Alamance and Rockingham counties.  Some of those nonprofits include CWS Greensboro, Youth Focus, YWCA of Greensboro and the Interactive Resource Center.

Bob’s Closet offers low-income families and individuals the opportunity to pick out a week’s worth of clothing at no cost.

Clothing is vetted for quality and hung for people to browse.

In 2020, Bob’s Closet served 762 guests and donated 13,878 new and gently used clothing items.

Additionally, Bob’s Closet was chosen by Hands for Good to be a recipient for their 2021 Sock Drive.

How You Can Help

To keep up with demand, Bob’s Closet is looking for new and gently used clothing donations with an increased need for items that appeal to teenagers and young adults.  Items must be undamaged and clean.  Donations are accepted by appointment-only.

Volunteer opportunities are also available.
