65th anniversary

A celebration was held at the premises on June 9, 2022 to mark the establishment’s 65th anniversary. “Sixty-Five Years of Gas and Grease with a Smile.” Customers and visitors were invited to enter a drawing to win a variety of prizes (including 65 gallons of gasoline and 65 fix-a-flat vouchers). Borough co-historian Douglas B. Rauschenberger spoke about the history of gas stations and auto dealerships at the 65 Club (110 Rhoads Avenue) at 1:30pm, after which many members of the club strolled around the corner to Carl’s for a ceremonial ribbon cutting (presided over by Mayor Colleen Bianco Bezich, Commissioner Kevin Roche, and Commissioner Frank Troy) at 2:30pm, and free ice cream served from a Mister Softee truck. After a welcome by Town Crier Philip Zoebisch, proprietor George Dieser presented checks for $650 to The Haddonfield Foundation (represented by Joseph Murphy), the Haddonfield Celebrations Association (represented by Ken Tomlinson), and the 65 Club (represented by Roger Jacobs).
