For the most recent update on the project, see STATUS below.

SNAPSHOT – August 17, 2017

Work on variety of construction projects at all four public school sites, approved by voters on March 8, 2017, began as soon as the school year ended in June.

Although some projects will be completed by the first day of school (Monday, September 11), others will take up to two years to finish.

The Board of Education’s goals for the projects include minimizing disruption to both the learning environment and the community and ensuring the safety of students and staff.

The board expects to find “differing underlying conditions and surprises” as work proceeds, but is confident that with the help of thorough planning and good professionals, it will be able to adjust and meet the demands on schedule and within budget.

In a statement released in early August 2017, the board said it appreciates the sacrifices that students, teachers, and parents will be making as the school community works through an abnormal year. The board noted that parking, in particular, will be challenging.

  • Parking plans for faculty were communicated to all staff in late August.
  • Onsite parking will not be available for students and families during the 2017-18 school year. Information about drop-off procedures and traffic patterns will be communicated by school principals prior to the first day of school.
